A meaningful gift begins with the detail you want to keep: a handwritten note, a place name, an anniversary, or a familiar silhouette. The making method should serve that detail.
Start with the finished object A keychain needs a sturdy attachment point. A sign needs a hanging plan. A coaster needs an appropriate finish. Decide the size and use before choosing lettering or adding decoration.
Match the design to the material Wood brings grain and natural variation. Acrylic offers color and clean edges, but the right material and settings depend on the laser. The xTool P2S is a CO₂ laser; the original xTool M1 uses a diode laser and also supports blade cutting. Do not assume a file or cutting setup transfers unchanged between the two. Check the manufacturer’s material guidance for your exact model.
Keep small details readable Make delicate lettering large enough for the material and final size. Check narrow bridges, holes, and attachment points in the design. A test piece in the actual stock helps reveal weak details before making the final gift.
What to include in a custom request Share the exact wording, the intended use, approximate dimensions, preferred material, quantity, and the date you need it. If you have handwriting or an illustration, a clear image helps us assess what can be reproduced.
This is a design planning guide, not a tested machine settings recipe. We’ll add photographs and project-specific notes as our portfolio grows.
